Car or charger?
The first question is whether the fault is in the car or in what it's plugged into. We test with our own known-good equipment, so you are not replacing parts on the car when the problem is a home charger, outlet or cable. If it's your home charger or wiring, we'll tell you, so you can call an electrician.
What we check on the car
- The charge port, its pins and its locking mechanism, which take a beating from daily plugging and Miami humidity
- The onboard charger, which converts household AC into DC for the battery
- The 12-volt or low-voltage battery, since a weak one causes surprising charging failures
- Battery temperature and cooling, which limit charging speed when they are not working
- Stored charging codes and any available software updates
