The jobs we see most
Hybrid battery. The red triangle and code P0A80 are the classic sign of an aging pack. We test every module and offer module replacement where it makes sense. More on hybrid batteries.
Inverter coolant pump. When the inverter's electric water pump fails, the inverter overheats and the car may refuse to drive. It is a known failure on several Prius and Lexus models. More on inverters.
Brake actuator and booster pump. Toyota hybrids use an electronically controlled braking system. A failing pump or actuator brings on several warning lights at once and a buzzing noise when braking.
EGR system. On third-generation Prius engines, a clogged EGR cooler or valve can cause misfires and, if ignored, head gasket damage. Cleaning it early is far cheaper than the alternative.
12-volt battery. These cars use a small 12-volt battery to wake up the hybrid system. When it weakens, the car may not go into Ready even though the hybrid battery is fine.
We check your VIN for open Toyota recalls and warranty extensions, including those on hybrid components, before we quote any repair.
